this is my last day here in Banja luka... This time I m writing in English... Why? Because...even if it s so much harder for me, now I have MORE RESPONSIBILITIES... Just joking, the thing is that I want this post to be plain to read to everyone, mostly to all the people I met here.
Just a few words before I go back to my native langage.
Bosnia is not, NOT, the way people expect it to be. It s a crazy country, people here are fierce, sometimes you think they re real men, as you never met in your life, sometimes you get the feeling they re like little kids fighting each other... cos you know it would be very easy to get a new war here. People is very temperamental, and as far as I had the chance to see, muslim, orthodox and catholic people still look bad at each other, sometimes...it s not actually plain to see, but.. The reason war won t happen anymore is that they love each other, after all, and war only happened because a bunch of foreign smart guys decided they needed to OCCUPY this land (as it happened for Afghanistan...). I felt a bit ashamed of being Italian here, sometimes.
BUT,one fact is that there s absolutely no way not to fall in love with this country, with its strength, with its food, with its contradictions...I have been drunk here as never in my life, but it was also the air that made me drunk.
I m in love with this, with you all: Kacha, Gorana, Ines, Bojan, Vuk, Valentina, Kristina, Branka, Susana, Jelena(s), Zoran, Dr.Ilic and Dr. Sasha and all the others...
Not to mention the people from all over the world I met... I talked with you about your countries and it feels like somehow I ve been there... of course, i ll do my best to actually BE there: Istanbul, Barcelona, Bangkok, Helsinki, Sao Paulo, Lisbon, Dublin, Zurich, El Cairo, Tunis, etc etc...
Hope I ll live enough to go everywhere.
And to know as much as I can about you all.
World is definitely a nice place to live in, now i know... I know you, and I know there s hope.
SEE YA and remember: all the roads lead to Rome (thanks for having suggested the line, Olli!)
